Funding and savings
Money, Money, Money! Enlistment bonuses up to $20,000! And that's just for signing up! As an Army National Guard member, on top of the funding you may receive from the Guard itself, you may also be eligible for various state benefits such as scholarships toward state colleges and universities. Many states offer retirement plans, improved medical benefits, and legal assistance.

| Educational Benefits |
State Tuition Wavier (STW) provides an "up front" waiver of 50% for tuition cost for members of the MDARNG attending Maryland state colleges and universities. State Tuition Assistance (STA) reimburses soldiers up to 50% of tuition and related fees after verification of grade of "C" or better for undergraduate courses. Not available if receiving reimbursement from any other source. Both programs may be used in conjunction with Federal Tuition Assistance and the Montgomery GI Bill. |
