With the Drill Sergeant leading the way, the recruits begin to navigate their way through Basic Training. Moving from the classroom to the field, they encounter physical tests that challenge their bodies and minds.

Phase II (White). This phase encompasses weeks 4-6 of IET (Initial Entry Training) and is centered on the development of basic combat skills, with special emphasis on weapon proficiency and PT. At this phase, Soldiers are provided limited responsibilities and privileges commensurate with demonstrated performance. Soldiers continue to receive instruction on Army Values, Warrior Ethos, ethics, history, and traditions. Specific goals for IET Soldiers in Phase II include, but are not limited to-

  1. Pass all Phase II training.
  2. Conform to established standards.
  3. Display self-discipline.
  4. Qualify with the M16A2 rifle or assigned weapon.
  5. Develop physical fitness consistent with time in training.
  6. Continue to develop capability to work as a team member.
